2016 Ferrari 488 GTB Review, Specs, Price – 2016 Ferrari GTB 488 was one of these cars that don’t really need premiere a. launched in early February 2015, more than one month in advance of its Geneva Motor Show debut. Served with stickers: “words are not enough”, mid-engine sports car really makes it difficult for us to write about it, but we will try our best.
So have lots of muscle, but does that include charisma as standard spec sheet? Watch a video of road test CAR magazine here to know, as an editor-at-large of our Ben Barry thrashes new 488 GTB on the road and track around the headquarters of the Modenese company.
The new engine is smaller than its predecessor, and a displacement of 488 cubic centimeters per cylinder gives the car the name: 488GTB. Multiplied by eight, who works for the new to cc 3902 90 degree V-8, mated with, such as the 460 V-8, the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Despite the drop in 0.6 litres in displacement, the new engine make more power: 166 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, compared to 630 horsepower at 9,000 rpm to 458 Speciale. Torque, predictably, larger as well, reaching £ 561-ft at 3,000 rpm low, far beyond the 458 Speciale was £ 400-ft.
That indicates the new engine, but does not replace a 4.8 litre like its name. On the contrary, it is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 ‘s all-new, not shared with other Ferrari models.

Even at first glance, it’s obvious that the exterior design inspired by his predecessor; especially when you next obeserve: bumpers, headlights and how fender shape. A new splitter design provide less smooth and more aggressive look. The tailights have been redesigned to be a bit larger, with a grille that looks like dark basin surrounded. Instead of the three exhaust pipes, there are two large outlet placed on the side of the central part of the diffuser. Finally, there’s a whole new, lower part of the sophisticated aerodynamic body.
As screams, naturally aspirated 458, 488 using engines with flat-plane crankshaft which should help sustain the “seductive soundtrack” that Ferrari is promising. 458 has no artificial aspiration, but Maranello car manufacturers claim that twin-turbocharged engines the new car has a “zero turbo lag.” The twin-scroll turbos themselves using componentry such premium shaft mounted on ball bearings and wheel compressor carved out of a low density titanium and aluminium alloys. Ferrari even trumpeting “a special seal on turbine housing [that] ensure a minimum gap between it and the compressor wheel for maximum efficiency.”
Variable Torque Management helps get the power all the way to the back of the wheel as fast as lightning. Ferrari claimed that seven-speed transmission superquick will allow the machine to hit the rev limiter in fourth gear just six seconds after a car leaving from the bus stop.
2016 Ferrari 488 GTB Specifications
Unlike some iterations of the new Italy, Ferrari GTB 488 2016 does not have an overly complicated design. This is not a supercar, but sports cars after all. Smooth flowing lines from bow to Stern, it tends to get out of control at times. The lights are too long and stretches across the larger part of the fender flared below them. Soften the nose air intake, and big enough for a constant air flow, without a hitch. The bubble roof is somewhat smaller than the second wheel arches front and rear, and that’s why there are a few large air intakes as the basis behind it.
The Interior, like the exterior, is reminiscent of the 458 Italy. Some of the new features being introduced is the center console keypad with minimalist design Moreover, the separation of the tunnel and dashboard, and new comfortable seats, original. Also, a new design of lock allows keyless starting.
The Interior is another story. Supportive leather seats showed many details that cannot be seen on a conventional sports car. Square round like a steering wheel wrapped in perforated leather is present and showing all the control you need. Floating dashboard painted red/black, like the rest of the car, but the instrument panel is nowhere to be seen. The gauge cluster is one of the great led screen with analog tachometer and a protruding from it. Most leather-covered dashboard with red stitching, while the carpet was a bit soft. There is no touch screen display, or other display, in this case. This car is about enjoyment of the road, not utility.
The extra oomph to shave only a fraction of a second of time laps Fiorano officials compared to the latest and greatest iteration of the 458, Speciale A (which has just debuted last fall). 488GTB got around Fiorano in 1:23,0, half a second faster than Speciale a. two cars both claim 3.0 seconds zero-to-60-mph time. As the speed increases.
